We Will Not Be Forgotten –

Class of 2020 Ivy Poem

We will not be forgotten

Nor our memories and loves

Our blood, sweat, and soul

That seeped into these grounds

Transforming ourselves and our surroundings.

As the ivy clings to these walls

We will always call home

Our spirits will cling together, to each other

Past, present, and future.

We will not be forgotten

For we have faced changes from the start

And again as our time ends here,

We experience change again.

A revolution not just in ourselves,

But in the world, as life as we know it

A new, uncertain beginning.

Yet as we have done before,

We will keep persisting through these winter moments,

Clinging to our memories, our connected spirits,

our combined strength

And embrace the change,

Lead the charge,

For although we are ephemeral

Our impact, our will to persist,

our altered, combined souls

Will last forever.

Twenty – one

Bagpipes

Still haunt my daydreams, at

Midnight

Never imagined a grown man

Secluded

In the bathroom, make banshee

Cries

Knowing death loomed overhead, since

Birth

The tears flow for days, months, now

Years

Our family fails to celebrate anymore, only

Mourn

The deaths that have passed and soon, buy

Graves

To dust snow mounds off in hope, I can

Not

Find you, only in my dreams you are

Standing

To speak of health, family,

Happiness

Even when nothing feels,

Okay It is.
